Justice gone backwards. It’s a sad day for the citizens of McHenry County.

Your best interest and my pursuit of justice took a  backseat to the protectionism of ghosts, or someone living. As many of you know, I have filed an Appeal with the Public Access Bureau in response to the denial of information from my Freedom of Information Act request to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. I have been trying to get all the information and documentation to my father’s murder case. I have received a letter back from the Public Access Bureau.

When you read the letter that was sent to me from the Illinois States Attorney’s Office (Public Access Bureau or PAC), put yourself in my shoes. I do tech support for a living. My expertise is supply chain management and the applications that facilitate distribution of products and goods. In my free time my interests are history, business, national and global events, politics (boring stuff I know, but that’s me), music and learning to play the guitar. There is nothing in my background that suggests that I have any knowledge in the area of law, investigations, or auditing of any kind. These are the skills that seem to be required as a citizen if you pursue answers to questions that should have already been submitted to the public domain. How many of you possess  these skills?

Apparently there has been an elevation in the response by the Sheriff’s Office, all though highly inappropriate. The response did not come from the Freedom of Information Act Officer, Ms. Jan Weech. She is trained in the standards of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act and has to take training annually to maintain her status as a Freedom of Information Act Officer for the sheriff’s department. The response was from Donald Leist, the EEO/Legal Affairs Officer.

I understand he use to work for McHenry County’s State’s Attorney’s Office and now he works for Sheriff Nygren’s office. How did they get involved?  The research that I could do gives me the perception that he seems to show up whenever there is allegations against Sheriff Nygren. He goes into court and appears to delay or obstruct any proceedings against the Sheriff.

If this does not seem bizarre to you consider this, my father’s case is 32 years old. I have learned that Debbie Neumann (the reason why my father and Pat Freeman are dead) has died in 2010. There is virtually no one still alive in this case. The Sheriff’s Office has already named the murderer of my father and Pat to be Larry Neumann. Why is this case still open? Why am I in a vicious fight to get information that would seem to only harm ghosts of the dead involved in this case? Maybe it is not the dead that is needing protection, maybe it is among the living that is needing the protection, but who? Are you starting to see the machine?

Here are the links to the reply that I received from PAB and my response back to them. Please stay engage and follow my story, there seems to be something fishy going on!

My Response to PAB Letter

IMPORTANT NOTE AND UPDATE: I had originally reported that Donald Leist works for the McHenry County States Attorney. I stand corrected. He use to work for the McHenry County States Attorney. He now works for the sheriff’s office.

    Paul,
I continued to be so inspired by your determination to get through this. I can assure you, the McHenry States Atty office if full of illegal, unconstitutional and shady activity that I have experienced first hand as well. It’s absolutely pathetic that we fund this corruption and I truly hope the people of McHenry County will stand up and demand accountability and change in that entire courthouse. Keep at it my friend… we’re all behind your fight!

Thank you so much for that Bobbi. It really is the support from everyone and the memory of my father and Pat that fuels my fire. Thank you and thank you to all of those that have been following my father’s story!!

    Paul,
Leist not longer works for the State Attorney. Nygren hired him.

  • webmaster says:

Thank you for that Eileen. Seems strange for a Sheriff to have a personal lawyer on the tax payer’s dollar.

  • Bob Munster says:

Don Leist was with the SA’s office. One of his last official SA duties was to defend Nygren against Seipler’s Special Prosecutor petition. Leist was successful in keeping a Special Prosecutor from being appointed to investigate Nygren for illegal campaigning and theft of county funds. He was only successful because Bianchi refused to address the allegations. Seipler has plenty of evidence that would lead a reasonable jury to believe Nygren is a crook but Bianchi wouldn’t touch it. You see Paul, the State’s Attorney and the Sheriff may be at odds now but Bianchi is no angel and is either scared of Nygren or has something hanging over his head.

It doesn’t seem to make sense that these charges are never pursued. Something is going on with my appeal. It seems that sheriff does not want me to know what is in that file. Why? There seems to be a lot of effort to keep a file closed that relates to mostly dead people.

Take a look at the Beth Bentley Case. She has been missing for 3 years. Her husband a lawyer, removed all of her belongings from their home shortly after Beth disappeared. Then he moved a new women into the marital home. Get this, the investigating officer from the Woodstock Police Department (Ratkowski) was friends with all of the suspects, and some of Beth’s friends on faceboook. Little bit of a conflict of interest. Her husband is Scott Bentley… Ratkowski now works at the court house as a security officer……..Haven’t we had enough? Time for ZInke and Nygren to resign……If our tax payers vote them into office again, we have no one to blame but ourselves…..We need to spread the word………..

  • Duncan Mchenry says:

This is nothing but a cover up and Nygren Knows it. My guess is, if the truth is revealed Mchenry County may be opening themselves up to a law suit….The Sheriffs office had the answers to this case years ago. They just didn’t tell the family or the public….By the way, where is the cell phone Sheriff? Oh thats right he’s is depositions this week at the Rockford Federal Court House.. Don’t expect him to tell the truth though…GG Golly Gosh judge you cant fix that case, because its Federal court and not in your court room at the Mchenry County Court House? That judge knows exactly who I am talking about….Yep Folks, case fixing is really going on in Mchenry County…..I was made an offer to pay off a judge…………Hmmmmm Judge GG…

If Sheriff Nygren did not have some knowledge about this, I would not have heard from Donald Leist. They would give me what I asked for and send me on my way. However, that is not what is going on. Are the protecting ghosts? I don’t think so, they are protecting a person/persons that are still around. C’mon Rockford, let the conversation begin.

Take a look at Sergeant Greg Pyle a former Mchenry County Officer. He was in charge of the program for child predators. Greg is now in Federal prison because he was sexually abusing young boys and the feds have him on video…Nygren and Zinke should be the laughing stock of our community for promoting this man..There appears to be a culture of acceptance for this type of behavior…..If they can allow a child predator to act as a police officer, they can cover up a murder case. They have no morals…..The plot continues to thicken…..If the public knew the whole story, Nygren, ZInke and their comrades would have been forced to resign years ago…This is like allowing Hitler to run America…….Truly…..Is there an impeachment process in place? If not there should be…
